This tasty recipe is rich in omega fatty acids & delivers delightful flavours from aquatic sources to even the most discerning tastebuds. Tailored for adult dogs of all breeds & formulated to support normal activity levels.
ESSENTIALS offers meals from two kitchens – the original English kitchen and the new European kitchen. The core idea and mission are the same, but there are some variations in ingredients and production. The meals from Heartland Kitchens in Europe, specifically in the Czech Republic, come at a lower price thanks to variations in the recipes and a greater use of frozen ingredients.
Why Grain-Free?
A grain-free diet helps sensitive digestion
Although most dogs can digest grains without any problems, there are still some that struggle and are prone to digestive problems such as constipation. All our products are of highest quality and specially formulated using the right balance of key nutrients – just without the grains.
Choose high-quality ingredients
Dogs can suffer from food allergies. Although it’s relatively rare for dogs to become intolerant or allergic to grains, when this does happen it can be a difficult time for both pets and owners – that’s why we eliminate the chances all together.
Grain-based ingredients such as wheat, maize, and soya are frequently used as fillers in commercial dog food. While these fillers may create a sense of fullness, they often have low nutritional value and can be difficult to digest. Choose a high-quality, grain-free meal like ESSENTIALS, and you're likely to notice positive changes in your dog's overall well-being.

What is Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF)?
A significant part of the idea behind the ESSENTIALS meals, is to keep your dog's blood sugar stable. In the same way that it applies to people, it applies to dogs (even more so) that when the blood sugar is running low or high, significant fluctuations both mentally and physically takes place.
All of our meals are composed in order to avoid these fluctuations; creating a new standard of foods - for your dog. The principle we have developed is BOF (Behavioural Optimizing Foods) and has been extremely well received.

Responsibly farmed salmon. A unique source of Omega-3 (DHA & EPA). Naturally rich in omega 3 essential fatty acids which have anti-inflammatory properties.
Trout
Sourced from within Europe, trout is natural source of omega 3 essential fatty acids.
Sweet potato
Sweet potatoes are a rich source of fibre and contain an array of vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, selenium, and they’re a good source of most of our B vitamins and vitamin C.
Cod
Cod is a lean fish and an excellent source of protein and vitamin B12.
Whole peas
Our peas are grown and harvested in United Kingdom or Europe. An alternative source of protein and fibre.
Linseed
Is often referred to as ‘nature’s gift. Rich in both Omega-3 (ALA) and plant nutrients. All three sources of Omega-3 have been included in ESSENTIALS: ALA, DHA & EPA. Omega 3 – may help to support skin and coat condition. Omega 3 also thought to help support cognitive and visual development in puppies.
Potatoes
An effective and tasty source of carbohydrates grown un Europe or UK. Excellent alternative to grains, suitable for dogs with grain sensitivities or intolerances good source of fibre and vitamin C.
Apples
Rich source of flavonoid antioxidants which can help to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals in the body.
Alfalfa Sprouts
Another one of Earth’s small miracles; filled with vitamins, mineral salts, amino acids, enzymes and most importantly, essential fibres.
Eggs
An important source of protein, essential amino acids and the nutrients, lutein and choline (B-vitamin). Freshly prepared eggs from cage free chickens.
Salmon oil
Salmon is a high-quality source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which can support healthy skin, a shiny coat, and overall heart and joint health in dogs.
Vitamins & Minerals
Carefully added in the highest possible quality. Combined with a nutritious selection of vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs — along with a high content of fresh ingredients cooked at low temperatures — this supports long-term health and well-being.
Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM
Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulfate, and MSM are three key ingredients that may support healthy collagen production and are essential for maintaining joint health.
PreBiotics
Prebiotics are compounds in food that induce the growth or activity of beneficial microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. The most common example is in the gastrointestinal tract, where prebiotics can alter the composition of organisms in the gut microbiome. In ESSENTIALS we include Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS), Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) & alfalfa.
Brewer's Yeast
Brewer’s yeast supports a healthy coat and skin, aids digestion by promoting a balanced gut microbiome, and strengthens the immune system. Its high antioxidant content helps fight free radicals, contributing to overall health.
Marigold
Contains a high level of the important antioxidants.
Seaweed
Known as a rich source of minerals and trace elements that contribute to overall health & well-being. Source of iodine which helps to maintain healthy thyroid function.
Green Tea
Contains antioxidants which help contribute to overall health and well being. Thought to help in controlling the bacteria which may contribute to poor oral health.
